What Everfor keeps about you and why, in plain words.

What we keep

  • Your account: the email address you sign in with, the handle, class, faction and level you pick, and anything you add to your profile (bio, avatar, ruleset, guild).
  • Sign-in links: when you sign in with Discord or Google, the account id they give us and your verified email address. Discord can also give us your avatar if you choose it. We never see your password and do not keep their access tokens.
  • What you post: builds, guides, comments, votes, follows, the stash, uploaded screenshots and the like, so they show on the site.
  • Sessions: which browsers are signed in to your account, so you can sign them out from Settings.
  • Your time zone, as your browser reports it, so daily counts roll over at your midnight.
  • When something goes wrong on the site, we record what broke, the page, and your browser and device type, never what you typed, and keep it for 30 days.
  • Email choices: whether you opted in to the digest, the wording you agreed to and when.
  • What you open, save and mark in the feed, and how much of a video you watch, for 90 days, used only to order your own feed and, counted together with everyone else’s, to tune the feed; it is never shown to anyone, and deleting your account deletes it.
  • What you share, read and click here on Everfor (never on other sites), which pages you open and how long they stay on screen, and how long a visit lasts (a random visit id kept only in this browser tab, never a cookie), counted together with everyone else’s to see how the site is doing; the single records are kept for 90 days, and after that only the daily totals.

What we do not keep

  • No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no selling or renting of data. Ever.
  • No raw IP addresses in our database. Where we need to slow abuse or count a sponsor card once, we store a one-way, salted hash of the address that cannot be turned back into it; the sponsor counts use a hash that changes every day.
  • No card numbers. Stripe takes payments; we only learn that a payment succeeded.

Cookies

  • ef_session keeps you signed in, for up to 30 days.
  • ef_oauth holds a one-time check for the few minutes a Discord or Google sign-in takes, then it is gone.
  • Twitch sets its own cookies once its player loads. The home page’s featured live stream plays muted by itself; visitors in the EU, the UK and Switzerland press play first, and after that first play their browser remembers the choice (in this site’s storage, not a cookie; clearing the site’s data in your browser forgets it).
  • YouTube’s player loads only when you press play on a video, and YouTube sets its own cookies from then on.
  • Everfor sets no other cookies. Ours are needed for the site to work, so there is no cookie banner.

Who else handles it

  • Cloudflare hosts the site, the database and uploaded files, and checks that sign-ups are human (Turnstile).
  • Resend sends sign-in codes and the emails you ask for.
  • Sentry receives error reports when something breaks, so we can fix it. We do not send it your email or profile.
  • Discord and Google, only when you choose to sign in with them. Their own privacy policies apply on their side.
  • Stripe, only if you become a Patron.
  • Twitch plays live streams in its own player; once it loads, Twitch’s privacy notice (twitch.tv/p/legal/privacy-notice) applies.
  • YouTube videos stay behind a click; once you press play, YouTube and Google’s privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) apply.

Your choices

  • See and change your profile in Settings. Sign out any browser from there too.
  • Every email has a one-click unsubscribe; sign-in codes are only sent when you ask for one.
  • To get a copy of your data, use Download my data in Settings. To delete your account and what you posted, use Close my account there, or email hello@everfor.gg from the address on the account. We answer within 30 days, usually much sooner.
  • Backups of the database are kept for up to 90 days, after which deleted data is gone from them too.

Everything else

  • Everfor is a fan site for people 13 and older. It is not made by or affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment.
  • Using Everfor is covered by the Terms and the Rules of the hall; how Blizzard's art and data are used, and how to have something taken down, is on the Blizzard and Everfor page.
  • If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so on the site before it takes effect.
