What Forever is, how you get in, and four steps in order. Each one is a page you can finish tonight.
What Forever is
Classic Azeroth, kept, and grown. In Blizzard's own terms.
The original world
The Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, level 1 to 60, set after the Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core. More than a thousand new quests.
The Skyborne
A new elven race on Zephras Isle, in a Horde and an Alliance form. Druids, hunters, rogues and warriors on both; shaman on one, mages on the other.
New ground
Riverglades between the Steppes and the Badlands, Mount Hyjal, nine new dungeons, and three raids at 60 to start.
Rulesets, not realms
No realm list. You pick Normal, PvP, Roleplaying or Roleplay-PvP, and Hardcore comes later. No flying, no level scaling.
How you get in
Three doors. Most people use the first.
Subscription or Game Time Forever comes with a World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time. There is nothing else to buy to play it.
The Skyborne pack The Skyborne race and the Zephras Isle questline need the Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher on the account.
Invite-A-Friend Upgrade packs come with codes. A friend sends you one, you redeem it through Battle.net, and it covers a window of play without a subscription.
Quest log
Getting started: four steps, in order. Each one is a page on this site.
-
Take the class quiz Ten scenes. It ends on a class and a tree. Step 1 -
Read your class guide Three specs, the races, and a build for the planner. Step 2 -
Follow the leveling route Six bands, both factions, the dungeons on the way. Step 3 -
Find a guild Guild halls and recruiting, by faction and hours. Step 4
Before the first step
A character lives on one ruleset. Pick it before you roll.
Pick a ruleset Normal, PvP, Roleplaying, Roleplay-PvP, and what each one locks The one that locks
PvP keeps one faction per account. The first PvP character you make sets the side. Everywhere else, both.
PvP, explainedPick a class
Nine classes, 10 races, 56 legal pairs in the client. The quiz picks for you; this is the short version.
Not sure?
Ten scenes, no wrong answers. It ends on a class and a tree, and opens the planner filled in.
Take the class quizNames
Two names, one of you. The rules, from Blizzard's post.
- Every character has two names that form a full name, like Ana Forever.
- The full name has to be unique in the region, not the first name. Three friends can all be Brightvale.
- The second name shows in the world by default. Hide it under Options, Nameplates, My Secondary Name; it still shows in chat.
- Both names are judged together under the naming rules. Splitting a word across them does not make it allowed.
- Taken or refused? Try another pair, or the random name generator.
One account language
A Preferred Online Language is set once for the account, under Options, Languages and Social, and can change once a day.
